ENTERPRISE LAW 2006
The Law, along with the Investment Law (which will be covered in next month's Legal Update) which was also passed on 29 November 2005, comes into effect on 1 July 2006
The Enterprise Law, once effective, will replace the Enterprise Law 1999, the Law on State Owned Enterprises 2003 (subject to our comments below) and provisions on organization and operation of enterprises as provided for in the Law on Foreign Investment in Vietnam of 1996 and the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Law on Foreign Investment of 2000.

The Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam (HKBAV) is pleased to welcome Mr. Wu Lin, Deputy General Manager of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ho Chi Minh City Branch, as a new member of our General Committee Board. Mr. Wu has over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial industry. He joined the Bank of China (BOC) in 1994 and has held several senior management roles across China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
